"After Completion", every Student will know how to surf, where to surf, when to surf and have the necessary surf skills safely to progress making the transition easier as You practice with correct equipment assessment and board dimensions which is the most important phase during the Curriculum.  I designed the "Curriculum" a series of four lessons to teach all the basic fundamental surf skills such as safety tips especially when surfing in the line up out in the open ocean which is very important with other surfers gaining respect with etiquette and how to safely paddle through sets, punch through waves, timing when to paddle out to avoid getting pummeled/slammed/drilled so You won't be a hazard to other surfers or Yourself while progressing!!! More tips on safety will be taught extensively through the Curriculum so that the beginner will be totally safe with knowledge of currents, rip tides, swells how they break E.T.C. The gear that You will need, how to wax the board and what dimensions will be custom fit after the assessment with many of the 30 + "S.T.'s" I have in my quiver of different sizes to assess You on for correct board dimensions, correct size leash, wax comb, proper fin placement, wet suits, rash guards, booties, first aid kit will be covered extensively which is very important to know what equipment to purchase during the lessons so You will be geared up correctly. After the board assessment which takes     least a minimum of two lessons, You may opt the "In Shop Consult" to the many sponsored shops/reputable shapers and find a custom fit board that will ride correctly for You then I can teach You on Your own custom board during the Curriculum for the final two lessons. Many try to figure out board dimensions on their own or from some unreliable source thus having to return or exchange the wrong boards that were purchased. My experience for 25 years has proven that 99% of My Clients/Students have received the wrong advice from a friend/relative or some inferior surf Instructor thus surfing on boards that won't ride right and all the incorrect gear too!!! So it makes sense to have me guide and teach You and buy the correct board dimensions with the proper shape from one of my shapers so You will be able to surf right on the correct shape with custom dimensions which will make a huge difference when progressing!!!  Wave tracking/meteorology when to surf/where to surf/when to surf/right conditions/etiquette and knowing where to position Yourself in the line up is covered during each lesson in detail so You will have a good enough understanding meteorology/oceanography for a solid foundation. It takes 30 minutes of land instruction time to cover this part of the class in each of the four lessons to insure You have attained enough wave knowledge, tides, rip currents, when to paddle out and where to surf safely. This is why I have designed the four lessons to give just enough time to acquire this portion of the Curriculum outline so You will not be a hazard or caught in an area which You should be paddling out in. Many who are not taught this crucial phase end up in surf zones that they should not be surfing thus risking injury to others that was avoidable!!! Finally, ocean training for in each lesson is the most important part of the Curriculum where the beginner will know timing when dropping in on waves, how to go right and left, pivot turn, etiquette, when to paddle out e.t.c.. There are left points, right point breaks and other beach breaks that I can guide the Student to then paddling out in the line up to reduce the learning curve when it comes to unknown surf spots. It is important to acclimate to other surf spots with guidance from My years of travel. I will cover the excitement of world travel during the road trip which will give an edge when traveling to other surf destinations.
