I pioneered the first "private" high end exclusive surf school with top professional surfers to accomplish my objective which is to turn beginners into competent surfers which is described in the Curriculum outline and lesson structure to achieve the goal of completing the process which is essential for a solid foundation. To my surprise it grew to be the go to private high end exclusive surf school for those who were committed seeking a more serious approach to surf instruction with detailed/technical lesson structure that would bring the beginner to the next level of surfing in a very short span of time thus not Your typical low end big group camp, Creg's lister, groupon scam, shaka bra touristy lessons, friend/relative that is not qualified to surf nor teach or some dude of the beach or surf shop that will teach all the wrong bad habits which will have to be corrected through my superior surf school. This is why I insist to do it the right way rather than the wrong way going through the process of learning Safety, Wave Knowledge, Meteorology, Ocean Training and purchasing only the correct custom boards-gear from my sponsored shops/shapers so the Student/Client can achieve surfing after a solid foundation.  My education started at Newport Elementary, Ensign Middle School then I graduated Corona del Mar High School in 1977. Then I started College at St. Mary's College of California 1.5 years, transferred to Chaminade College of Honolulu, Hawaii for 2 years with undergraduate studies and majors in Business, Political Science and a Certificate in education which has been beneficial in teaching and creating lesson plans which is described in the Curriculum/Advanced lessons outline and lesson structure. Matt in Bali I was featured in "SURFING MAGAZINE" during a surf session on a huge HURRICANE swell "Howard" at the "Newport Point" in 1980. **See photo page.  I love to be at the beach surfing with my students which gives me the incentive to continue to pass on my 46 years of surfing experience and knowledge for the next generations to come!!!  I had enjoyed competing in contests in the late 70's at the collegiate and professional level in California and when living in Hawaii. I encourage competitive surfing but I emphasize surfing as an individual sport and art form to make it a fun soulful "spiritual experience" like surfing was meant to be!!!
